Tomorrow is your last chance to drop in on our art history congress!
It's been great so far, terribly interesting talks, guided tours, an of course the private view of the exhibition we organised in co-operation with the collective Konglomerat, with a fascinating performance. Here are some photos for you!
Check out the rest of the program here; ksk-in-leipzig.de or on the Facebook page.

Twice a year students organise the art history student congress for the German speaking countries, this semesters congress is organised by the art history students of the university of Leipzig, among the team - me ;)
We have been putting together the program, the finances, the PR, etc for the last 18 months. Yes academic structures take their time. The prouder we are now to invite all students of art history but also those interested in the subject to participate in this free event. The theme we chose for the 91st edition, also as a recurrence to ongoing political debates, is 'the other', under the German title 'Vermeintlich anders' we invite you to reflect on what is 'different' for you and see how the subject is treated by art. Not only will you find very interesting talks from the 24th - 27th November, but also a huge surrounding culture program with guided tours as well as a party to get to know Leipzig and its people!
Find the program on our website; ksk-in-leipzig.de
or keep up-to-date on facebook/kskinleipzig

Saturday night was museum night! 17 000 people, says Luxembourg's most read newspaper, came to the participating museums. Indeed there were so many people at the Casino Luxembourg it was hard to keep our group together and get heard, but our guided tour "coup de coeur" with Gabrielle Taillefert and me from the art-collective Richtung22 still was such a great experience. The 45 min tour trough Aude Moreau's la nuit politique (the political nightfall) at the Casino was only a one-time tour, but I learned a lot and I already hope to see you at the museum night in 2017! If you are interested in Aude Moreau's work I can really recommend the exhibition, you still have time until the 8th of January to check it out in Luxembourg City.

What's new?
Our Luxembourgish art-collective Richtung22 was asked by three Luxembourgish culture institutions to contribute to this year's museum night in Luxembourg city on 8th October.
We decided to accept the invitation by the art gallery Casino Luxembourg and two of our group - Gabrielle Taillefert and me - will give a guided tour with a personal point of view through their current exhibition la nuit politique by artist Aude Moreau. The tour starts at 19:30 and will be either in Luxembourgish or French, according to the public.

So a few weeks ago I decided to finally become a volunteer at Greenpeace Luxembourg and actively support a wonderful organisation and its important work.
Luckily I can also work on things from a distance, while still being in Leipzig a lot of the time. So straight away I got the great opportunity to create a new t-shirt design for the volunteers. In just a few days I had a simple but innovative design with a touch of history of art ;) I lent Delacroix's Marianne to lead - sort of an energy revolution this time. The shirt got a lot of positive feedback, and was worn by the volunteers on festival-stands, like here on the site of Last Summer Dance, a fabulous music & arts festival in Erpeldange-sur-Sure, where I also did some video-shooting for this years' aftermovie.

Today I started -very close to where we left of yesterday- my new 6 week internship at the Institut Pierre Werner. IPW is a German-French-Luxembourgish culture institute devoted to the cultural and intellectual dialogue between its founding states. Situated in the old Neumünster Abbey in Luxembourg city, IPW offers lots of interesting insights into various cultural activities. One part of my work will consist in informing visitors about the exhibition about the comic author Jacques Tardi, which is currently taking place in the ground floor of the building. It's free entrance, so feel free to drop in at any time, look around and discover some great original comic artworks about WWI.

Today was the last day that my video Meandering Dreams was shown at the Konschtkëscht project's Artbox. Here is one of the 14 videoboxes placed in and around Luxembourg. This one's from the Entrance of the Neumünster Abbey in Luxembourg city.

Wednesday, 13 July 2016

Hi there, heard of Konschtkëscht before? You can run into one of 14 "artboxes" if you visit one of the participating culture places in and around Luxembourg. This cross-border project, established to promote video-art and the video artists in the greater region, presents one video every month online and in the artboxes in various art and culture locations. Well as you might have guessed already this July they selected to present my video Meandering Dreams, so you are welcome to go and have a look!
More information? (French & German) Here

Looking back on a great photo festival, I want to share some shots of me giving a guided tour through the main exhibition with you. It was an enriching experience to walk a group of people through the space and talk about some of the works. In total it was great to see behind the scenes of the organisation and witness the things that worked well and less well too. I've learned a lot and I'm looking forward to put this new knowledge into practice in the (near) future. ;)

Saturday, 25 June 2016

Last night was the opening of the main exhibition of the 7th edition of the Leipzig photo-festival f/stop. With the bilingual title "The end of the world as we know it, ist der Beginn einer Welt die wir nicht kennen" the curators Jan Wenzel and Anne König regrouped very different types of images, with a focus on reportage. Yesterday and today lots of people already had a look through the festival spaces. Come and see for yourself some great works and concepts, historic as well as highly up-to-date, more info on the website www.f-stop-leipzig.de.

With the Leipzig photo-festival opening this Friday I want to give you a quick update on how it's running.
I 've been distributing posters and flyers and worked on the set up of the main exhibition at the Baumwollspinnerei. As well I got the opportunity to write a text about one of the subjects exhibited which was just published on the festival website, find my text (in German) about the photos of Palmyra by photojournalist Joseph Eid, that will be shown in the archaeology-themed room, directly HERE.
I hope you will visit this great festival, I'm excited to give guided tours on Monday the 27th, Friday the 1st and Sunday 3rd of July, maybe some more if there's a high demand.

Thursday, 19 May 2016

Currently I'm involved in a course at Uni where we as a student group engage in the preparation work for the Leipzig photo-festival f/stop which will take place throughout Leipzig from the 25th of June until 3rd July 2016. It's a great collaboration and us students get the opportunity to give multiple guided tours at the festival. I will keep you update, until then, check out their website or follow the official facebook page.
As a small art festival, f/stop really depends on a lot of generous support, so if you like the festival, you can help put into practice some great set-ups for example by giving financial support and choosing a little reward here on their crowdfunding page; visionbakery.com/fstop2016
See you at the festival!

Our module's exhibition about comics that we analysed went quite well, we had quite a few visitors for the first opening at the Galerie für zeitgenössische Kunst and after that in the Institut für Kunstgeschichte, where the posters will remain until October. (more info in German)
